Methodology

This methodology provides clear definitions and explanations for the key terms used in our initiatives database. Understanding these categories helps ensure consistency and clarity when browsing and filtering initiatives.

Scope

The geographical reach and focus of initiatives

Global

Initiative that is explicitly global in focus and mandate - i.e. not pertaining to specific countries.

International

Initiative that operates in two or more countries and the countries can be specified.

National

Initiative that operates in and focuses mainly on one country, whether on a national or sub-national level.

Status

The current state and progress of initiatives

Aspirational

The initiative or project has been established with a commitment or aspiration to future collaboration and/or Collective Action, but is not yet a fully established Collective Action according to Basel's definition.

Active / Ongoing

The initiative or project is currently being worked on.

Completed

Work has finished and deliverables/tasks have been completed.

Dormant

Work on the inititative or project has been suspended, is not currently ongoing, or it is unclear if activities are being undertaken.
