Introduction by Gemma Aiolfi, Head of Collective Action, Compliance and Corporate Governance at the Basel Institute on Governance:
Things are looking positive for anti-corruption Collective Action in 2019.
The High Level Reporting Mechanism's expansion in Colombia and Argentina demonstrates a growing commitment among some governments to working with the private sector to increase transparency and prevent corruption.
At the other end of the scale, initiatives to support SMEs in doing business with integrity are also growing. Our recent mandate from the UK government to provide guidance to SMEs on anti-corruption Collective Action, compliance and bribery prevention is one example.
Our inspiration remains your hard work and your brilliant initiatives around the world. We had the pleasure and privilege to hear about some of these at our Collective Action Conference in November in Basel.
